  • A delivery runs module built around the way they run their own truck and crew, with booking forced inside the sale so an order cannot move without it.
  • Automated review requests. They were not asking for reviews at all before, and now five-star ones come in steadily.
  • A custom website running on the same Odoo, so stock, pricing and promotions are never a second copy of anything.
  • Small automations through the sales process. A staff member puts their name on an order and the quote and invoice write themselves, addressed properly, with their name on it.

The business kept trading throughout.

  • Migrated off Saasu, where years of business rules lived as tags and hashtags stuck onto customers and products, and only worked if you remembered what they meant.
  • Each of those rules is now a field Odoo acts on. An account on hold stops the order rather than relying on someone spotting a note.
  • A custom website connected to the same system, with customer sign-in so their clients order online and book a delivery day. Staff are notified and can confirm or reschedule the van.
  • Stock control they did not have before. And their email was broken, so I fixed that too.

    Someone asks for a price on your website, and it lands in Odoo as a lead.

  2. Quote

    You quote from that lead, so their details are already on it. This is where it gets its number.

  3. Sales order

    They say yes, and the quote becomes the sales order. Same record, same number.

  4. Stock

    Confirming the order reserves the stock, so your website shows what's left.

  5. Delivery

    The delivery or job is created from the order, so the driver or crew sees what was sold.

  6. Invoice

    The invoice is made from the order, so the lines and prices match what was sold.

  7. Paid

    When they pay, the invoice is marked paid and the whole job shows in your reports.

The six weeks

  1. Week 1, Discovery and foundations

    Going through how the business runs, agreeing what the build covers, and getting the core of Odoo standing up with your data in it.

  2. Weeks 2 to 5, Built around how you work

    The custom parts, the workflows between them, and the website. Your team gets into the system as it takes shape, so the friction turns up while there is still time to fix it.

  3. Week 6, Go live

    One planned switch. The system runs the business, and the final payment is invoiced now, not before.

Odoo is open source, which is the whole reason any of this is possible.

Most business software is closed. You get what it does and no more. Odoo's code is open, so the parts that don't match your business can be changed, and the parts that don't exist can be built.

Odoo says so in the small print at the bottom of its own website.

Odoo hosting and user licences are paid to Odoo directly, at their published rates.

    Paid once you have seen the core system working with your own data.

  3. 40% When it's live

    Invoiced only once the system is running your business.

If it's not live in six weeks, I keep working at no extra cost until it is. You don't finish paying until it's live.

The six weeks assumes you can turn things around when I need them from you. Your plan says what I need and when.

What you own, what it costs, what happens to your data.

  • Whose Odoo is it?

    Yours. Your own instance, your own database, your licence in your name. I build in it, I don't sit between you and it.

  • Who owns the custom code?

    You do. It's documented and written to Odoo's standard conventions, so any Odoo developer can pick it up. No ongoing fee to keep it working.

  • What about hosting?

    You pay Odoo for hosting and user licences directly, at their published rates. That's separate from what you pay me and it doesn't come through me.

  • What happens to our existing data?

    Customers, products and open jobs are migrated, reconciled against your current records, and backed up before every stage. Nothing cuts over until the numbers match.

  • What happens to the business while you build?

    Your current setup keeps running the whole time. The switch happens once, after your team has used the new system with your own data.

  • How much of our time does it take?

    A couple of hours on a video call for the Blueprint, a demo at the midpoint, and a few days of your team using it before go-live. Your plan says what I need from you and when.

  • What if it doesn't fit how we work?

    The scope is mapped from your workflow before anything is configured, and you approve the written plan before I build against it.

  • What happens after the six weeks?

    90 days of adjustments are included. After that you can run it yourself, call me when you need something, or scope more work. No lock-in contract.
